 Missy R HaydenHead Coach and Senior Coach Email
Coach Missy has been with the Prince William Swim
Club for almost 25 years.
She started swimming with PWSC at the age of
3. Her mother and grandmother founded the team and
were also previous head coaches. Missy has
been coaching with PWSC for the past 11 seasons. She
has coached and worked with all ages and skill levels
of the team. Missy created the team’s
first "Intro to Competetive Swimming" (previously the Minnows
program) as well as expanded the team’s "Dryland/
Streghth Training Program". Missy has served as the
Senior Level Technical Coach for the past several seasons
and held the title of Head Age Group Coach from 05-09
seasons. In the spring of 2003, Missy was asked to
serve as the 10 & Under Coach for the Virginia
Swimming Zones All-Star Team.
In additional to year round swimming,
Missy has worked with several of the
area’s summer swim teams.
She coached the Veterans Park Swim Team for 5 years, and
served 4 years as their Head Coach. She iwill
begin her second summer as the Head Coach for the Dale
City Frogs Swim Team. Missy also served
as the Head Coach of the Freedom High School Swim Team
for the 2008-2009 season.
Coach Missy is certified by the American Swimming Coaches
Association as Level 3 Coach. She is also a certified
Red Cross Water Safety and Coaches Safety instructors, and has
previous lifeguarding and pool operation experience as well.
When she is not coaching, Missy works her "day" job as
the Regional Sales Rep for TYR Sport, and manages to
still spend time with her husband Joe, and
her 3 beautiful children who also swim for
PWSC - Alicia, Corina, and JJ.
Coach Missy has a passion for swimming and a passion for
our team. She looks forward to helping
the Amberjax continue to move forward in their quest of
"Finding the Best in Every Swimmer."
 Jamie L GaskillAssistant Head CoachEmail
Coach Jamie has been coaching for 9 years. She is
currently ASCA Level 3 certified coach and is working on Level 4,
and is also First Aid/CPR/Coaches Safety certified. Coach
Jamie works primarily with Age Group Swimmers, and has been the
"Blue" level swim coach for several seasons, helping many of her
swimmers reach Age Group championships. All 4 of her children
(Kaci, Kali, Kelsi, and Kate) are either currently
on or have been on the team.
Coach Jamie is aslo a certified personal trainer with
American Fitness Professionals Association. She holds a bachelor
and a master’s degree in education from West Chester
University, PA. and has teaching experience with children of all
ages. Coach Jamie’s coaching experiences include swimming,
tennis and soccer. She served the Amberjax VERY well as
Head Coach for the 05-09 seasons. Coach Jamie has
decided to go back to teaching and so has accepted the role of
Assistant Head Coach where she can still work with her
amberjax family.
 Rose Marie HayesSenior Group CoachEmail
Coach Hayes (Rose Marie)-Head Senior Coach - has been coaching
for 42 years in Texas, North Carolina and Virginia. Coach Hayes is
currently the Seniors program for the Amberjax. She coached with
QDD on US Marine Corps Base, Quantico from 1977-79 and has been
coaching with Prince William Swim Club 1979 to present. Coach Hayes
has achieved ASCA Level 4 certification and is currently working on
Level 5. She has coached swimmers who are currently swimming for
George Mason, East Carolina University and Savannah College of Arts
and Design. Coach Hayes has attended the Coaches College at the
Olympic Training Center with 27 other Senior coaches, which was
certified through the University of Colorado.
 Dorothy CollinsHead Age Group and Pre-Senior CoachEmail
Dot Collins has been with the PWSC Amberjax since September
2004, and
in September 2009 will become the Amberjax Head Age Group Coach.
She
is currently an ASCA Level II coach and is working on her ASCA
III
certification. Coach Dot has been involved with the sport of
swimming
for more than 20 years, having grown up swimming on Long Island,
and
then swimming for 3 years at Lawrence University in Appleton,
WI,
where she set a school record in the 1650 freestyle, and also swam
200
butterfly and 400 IM. Upon moving to Washington, DC, she began
her
coaching career as a Water Safety Instructor teaching youth
swimming,
and then returned to the world of competitive swimming when she
took
an assistant deck coaching position with the Potomac Marlins
(PVS).
During her tenure with the Amberjax, Dot has consistently
qualified
those athletes training with her groups for Regional (A/BB)
Champs,
Virginia LSC Age Group Champs, PVS’s Tom Dolan Invitational
and most
recently, the Eastern Zone SC Zone Meet. As Head Age Group Coach,
Dot
will have responsibility for the Amberjax 14&under programs,
and work
with Coach Missy to develop training plans tailored to help
young
athletes of all experience and skill levels reach their
full
potential. In this position, one of Dot’s primary objectives
is to
help more Amberjax swimmers reach championship meets such as Age
Group
Champs and the Eastern Zone meet. With nearly 10 years of
coaching
experience In addition, as Dot brings significant experience with
all
aspects of age group swimming to the pool deck and as such hopes
to
help other Amberjax coaches gain the knowledge and
experience
necessary to be the most effective coaches possible. Dot has a BA
in
comparative religious studies from Lawrence University and a BA
in
English Literature from Southwest State University. In addition,
Dot
has attended many swim clinics such as the ASCA World Clinic
and
events sponsored by USA Swimming. She has also coached high school
and
summer league swimming in the northern Virginia area. Dot is
married
with two daughters, Sayali (age 6) who swims for the Amberjax
and
Arwen (age 2) who she hopes soon will.
 Lorena L CaballeroAge Group Coach - NoviceEmail
Coach Lorena
swam competitively for eight years in her native country, Peru. She
moved to the US in 1990 to attend American University in Washington
DC from where she graduated with a BA in Communications. She got
her Water Safety Instructor Certification in 2001 and she has been
giving group and private swim lessons since then. She
joined our staff in 2007 and has primarily coached Age Group
Swimmers. This coming season she will be coaching the White Group.
She is currently an ASCA Level 2 certified coach.
She has 2 children who both swim for the team.
 Monika M ScottAdvanced Age Group CoachEmail
Coach Monika swam with the PWSC Amberjax
for over 10 years and has grown up with the ethics, values and
hardwork this team supports. She has worked with Swim
Kids (formally Swim America) teaching all four strokes, technique
corrections, turns and starts. She also coaches for the Dale
City Frogs and used to give private instruction for several
years. She is currently working on her Level I certification.
This is Monika's second year wit the Amberjax as the Advanced
Age Group Coach and team's nutritional specialist. Previously
she coached the summer prep. program. She has been a wonderful addition to our staff as she
educates our swimmers (and parents) about the proper eating and
nutrition habits they are forming now to last a
lifetime.
 Trey McKinnonPre Senior and Novice CoachEmail
Trey began swimming at the age of 3 and began
competitive swimming at the age of 9. He became an American Red
Cross WSI in 1996 and a WSIT (Water Safety Instructor Trainer), as
well as a Swift Water Rescue Diver, in 1998. He has over 12
years of coaching and swim instruction experience, as well as 25
years of competitive swim experience.
Trey is a competitive long distance triathlete,
is a Level 1 USA Triathlon Coach and a Level 2 USA Swimming/ ASCA
Coach. For his day job, Trey
works for the FBI where, among other things, he is the Director and
Head Coach of the FBI’s Racing Team. He coaches athletes of
all ages, and as a Triathlon Coach, currently has athletes who
compete in The Ford IronMan (Ultra Distance Triathlon), USA
Triathlon Nationals and Olympic Distance
Worlds.
 Celia WolffNovice & Age GroupEmail
Celia has been involved
with swimming and coaching for 33 years. She began competitive
swimming at age 9 and continued to swim through college where she
competed at Division I Nationals for Purdue University. Her
specialty was sprinting in fly, back and freestyle. She has
been teaching swimming lessons since she was 13 and continued with
group and private lessons after receiving her WSI in
1983.
Celia began her coaching career
as a summer swim team coach in 1983. As a military wife she
has coached several age-group and high school teams
throughout her 22+ years with her family’s worldwide
moves. This movement allowed her to coach many levels of
competitors from novice to AAAA and Zone qualifiers. In
addition to teaching her four children to swim, she has also worked
with masters swimmers, given private lessons and has also been a
personal swim coach. Her daughter, Elise, currently
swims for the Ambejax with the pre-seniors.
Celia enjoys the technical
aspect of teaching strokes, turns and starts and is
currently an ASCA Level 2 certified coach. She is
very excited to be a part of the Amberjax family and is working
with Intro to Age Group, Rising Stars and Red
Groups.
